Since late 2017 TCG have been undertaking possum surveys to try to understand more about where the Western Ringtail Possums occurs in the catchment. This work is ongoing and adds to data being collected about these critically endangered animals. The map above indicates where our surveys have found possums.
As a community organisation we have been lucky enough to be able to access bushland on private properties to undertake our surveys. These are places that are often difficult for agencies to access.
The surveying is set to continue until 2022. If you have a property you would like surveyed, or if you have any ideas of where we should be looking for possums please let us know.
