TCG’s new Life Members

What a great night it was last Saturday night, when almost 40 people attended the inaugural TCG Volunteer Appreciation and Thank You Dinner.  The evening commenced with social aspect where people had time to network and catch up with friends they hadn’t seen for a while.

This was followed by a very entertaining speaker, John Tonkin, from Department of Fire and Emergency Services who was on hand to bring people up-to-date with where to go for information in the event of a fire.

However the most important part of the evening was the recognition of long time volunteers.  Three people were awarded with Life Memberships for their volunteer service and the outstanding contribution they have made to the organisation.

The recipients are: Kaye Stott and Geoff Prince for building and maintaining at least 3 consecutive websites for TCG over a 16 year period commencing when the group became incorporated back in 2001.

Graeme Heighton was the other recipient.  He has served for 14 years on TCG’s executive committee. He is still an active member of the committee. In those years Graeme spent around 12 as Treasurer.
