Build your own possum drey!

Looking for something to do these summer holidays? Come and take part in Albany’s Historic Whaling Station’s Summer Holiday Program!

Join Executive Officer Peter Barnes, and Project Officer Christian Knapp, between 12:00PM and 2:00PM in building your very own Possum Drey, all while learning about how we can all help protect and conserve Western Ringtail Possums in our very own backyards! Once the day is done, you can head home with a possum drey of your very own, paired with the know-how of where best to hang it in your backyard!

(Please note, bookings are required for this workshop, so please email Albany’s Historic Whaling Station at reception@discoverybay.com.au to secure a slot for your entire family on Wednesday the 29th of January 2025!)

Join us near the whale slide anytime between 10am to 2pm on Wednesday 29th January 2025, it is included as part of your Historic Whaling Station admission.

Children under 15 years must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.

Our partners South Coast Natural Resource Management and Oyster Harbour Catchment Group Inc. will also be there!

Join Laura Bird the Right Whale Tracker project coordinator with South Coast NRM to learn how to ID the mysterious Right Whales who visit our shore.  Or join Oyster Harbour Catchment Group’s Project Officer Cassie Dressler in making a DIY cat wand toy for your cat companion or take part in our other activities all aimed at raising awareness on how you can save endangered native species such as the Western Ringtail Possum through responsible pet ownership.
