Baiting and Trapping within West Cape Howe NP and Albany coastal reserves 23rd June to 2nd July.

Feral predator control will be conducted from the Albany windfarm through the coastal reserves and into West Cape Howe National Park (WCHNP).

Baiting and trapping is used in WCHNP to control foxes and feral cats to protect endangered native animals including the western ringtail possum.

The bait used in WCHNP is toxic to introduced animals, but not to native animals which have evolved tolerance to the active compound (1080).

All areas where baiting and trapping occurs are signposted.

Trapping only occurs in the Albany coastal reserve system and are signposted. Please keep your dog on a leash at all times in the Albany coastal reserves.

The current program is scheduled for 23rd June to 2nd July (see map below).
